Right after he sent the text Loki regretted it. Opening up, talking about family, all of it sounded quite horrible. He could just disappear again, avoid it all. At the very least just continue over text, but no. He had spent so much energy running, it was time to face it.
He could have teleported straight into Thor's living room, and normally he would (just to annoy the thunderer), but this time he appeared outside the door and gave a polite knock. As much as it pained him to admit, now wasn't the time for games. Later he may revert back to joking, it was his natural defense when things got a bit too much, but for now he could put up the effort.
Thor deserved that much.

Albeit much smaller than he'd ever known it to be. They didn't have luxuries like servants here, so he answered his own door and stared, a smile spreading across his face before he rushed his little brother, pulling him into a strong embrace.
"Brother! I didn't realize you knew how to knock! It's good to see you."

"Yes, yes, good to see you too. Now put me down!" Once Thor let go Loki straightened his plain black shirt, eyeing Thor warily.

"It's not Asgardian mead, but that's mostly because all our bees are gone."

This was not one of those times. Loki took the rather large tankard and drained half of it in one go.
"As good as we're going to get with Earth bees."
He took another drink, smaller this time.
"Alright, let's get this over with."

One could hope at least. He took a long pull of his own glass before setting it down harder than intended.
"Over with? Brother," He shook his head, looking over to Loki. for the past several years, his little brother had been a thorn in his side and yet...he'd also known Loki was dealing with things he couldn't fathom...only he could, now, with...everything.
"You were right, are you happy? I does sting. A lot, the lies, the...cover-up. You didn't see the palace. You remember the mural, all of Father's great feats: the liberation of Vanaheim, the thwarting of the Joten invasion of Midgard? It was a veil."

When he spoke, though, it wasn't in a mocking or flippant tone. He'd come here to have an honest talk. As long as he could stomach it, at least.
"We knew. We weren't told, but deep down we knew." He sighs. "Not about the maniac sister, of course. We had absolutely no warning about that one."
